Son you better be ready for love On this glory day This is your chance to believe What I've got to say Keep your eyes on the sky Put a dollar in the kitty Don't the moon look pretty Tonight when I chase the dragon The water may change to cherry wine And the silver will turn to gold (Time out of mind) Time out of mind I am holding the mystical sphere It's direct from Lhasa Where people are rolling in the snow Far from the world we know Children we have it right here It's the light in my eyes It's perfection and grace It's the smile on my face Tonight when I chase the dragon The water may change to cherry wine And the silver will turn to gold (Time out of mind) Time out of mind Children we have it right here It's the light in my eyes It's perfection and grace It's the smile on my face Tonight when I chase the dragon The water may change to cherry wine And the silver will turn to gold (Time out of mind)

Lie To Me 04:06
Lie to me And tell me everything is all right Lie to me And tell me that you'll stay here tonight Tell me that you'll never leave, I'm just trying to make believe That everything you tell me is true Lie to me, go ahead and lie to me Lie to me, go ahead and lie to me Lie to me It doesn't matter anymore It could never be the way it was before If I can't hold on to you Leave me with something I can hold onto, For just a little while won't you let me dream Anyone can see That you love him more than me But right now, baby, let me pretend That our love will never end Lie to me, go ahead and lie to me Lie to me, go ahead and lie to me Lie to me, go ahead and lie to me Lie to me, go ahead and lie to me

Loud Music 04:58
Loud music is a forty-dollar fine In Amarillo, Texas, down the Rock Island line Loud music is a forty-dollar fine In Amarillo, Texas, down the Rock Island line Before you make it scream, before you make it whine Don't forget loud music is a forty-dollar fine Well, there's a little law that's still on the books, y'all Got nothin' to do with catchin' crooks, no You turn the music up, people start to holler If a man walks in, you got to give him forty dollars Do a little dance, drink a little wine Don't forget loud music is a forty-dollar fine Loud music is a forty-dollar fine In Amarillo, Texas, down the Rock Island line Before you make it scream, before you make it whine Don't forget loud music is a forty-dollar fine Well, it's hard to hold back when the sun goes down There's not a whole lot of shakin' from this old town But they'll rock you silly and they'll make you sweat Got nothin' to lose, let your feet get wet But before you decide to walk that line Don't forget loud music is a forty-dollar fine Loud music is a forty-dollar fine In Amarillo, Texas, down the Rock Island line You can make it scream, and you can make it whine Don't forget loud music is a forty-dollar fine You can take a man's money, you can take away his gun But he'll always come back to what it was made him run Well, they try to protect you from the things you read Ain't no tellin' where a little music might lead So before you get wild, before you lose your mind Don't forget loud music is a forty-dollar fine Loud music is a forty-dollar fine Before you make it scream, go and lose your mind Don't forget loud music is a forty-dollar fine It's a forty-dollar fine It's a forty-dollar fine A forty-dollar fine A forty-dollar fine

Well I've kicked around a lot since high school I've worked a lot of nowhere gigs From keyboard man in a rock'n ska band To haulin' boss crude in the big rigs Now I've come back home to plan my next move From the comfort of my Aunt Faye's couch When I see my little cousin Janine walk in All I could say was ouch CHORUS: Honey how you've grown Like a rose Well we used to play When we were three How about a kiss for your cousin Dupree She turned my life into a living hell In those little tops and tight capris I pretended to be readin' the National Probe As I was watchin' her wax her skis Saturday night she walks in with a date And backs him up against the wall I tumbled off the couch and heard myself say In a voice I never knew I had before CHORUS I'll teach you everything I know If you teach me how to do that dance Life is short and quid pro quo And what's so strange about a down-home family romance? One night we're playin' gin by a cracklin' fire And I decided to make my play I said babe with my boyish charm and good looks How can you stand it for one more day She said maybe its the skeevy look in your eyes Or that your mind has turned to applesauce The dreary architecture of your soul I said - but what is it exactly turns you off?

My baby told me such a long time ago She said, "You're gonna miss me someday" Now, My baby told me such a long time ago She said, "You're gonna wish you had stayed" Been a long time, honey, and I'm gone still I think about you some and I guess I always will And if I'm losing, at least I'm moving And it's easier to live with than standing still She called me collect from a pay telephone She said, "Who's gonna love you when you're old?" Now my baby told me once I was gone She said, "I've never known a man so cold" Now, women say funny things sometimes Especially when they're just about to lose their minds If I could change it, knockin' on wood Lord knows I'd box a forest full of trees down if I could Someday baby, someday maybe, maybe someday baby Oh, I don't know Now, I don't know why babies cry, why the wind blows No, girl, I just don't know But tonight I just might lose my mind I don't know I don't know why babies cry, why the wind blows No, honey, I don't know But tonight I just might lose my mind My baby told me such a long time ago She said, "You're gonna miss me someday" My baby told me a long time ago She said, "You're gonna wish you had stayed" Been a long time, honey, and I'm gone still I think about you some and I guess I always will Someday baby, someday maybe, maybe someday baby Someday baby, someday maybe, maybe someday baby Someday baby, someday maybe, maybe someday baby

Smokin' Gun 03:56
I get a constant busy signal When I call you on the phone I get a strong uneasy feeling You're not sitting there alone I'm having nasty nasty visions And baby you're in every one, yeah And I'm so afraid I'm gonna find you with That so called smokin' gun Maybe you want to end it You've had your fill of my kind of fun But you don't know how to tell me And you know that I'm not that dumb I put two and one together And you know that's not an even sum And I know just where to find you with That well known smokin gun I'm standing here bewildered I can't remember just what I've done I can hear the sirens whining My eyes blinded by the sun I know that I should be running My heart's beating just like a drum Now they've knocked me down and taken it That still hot, smokin' gun

We are amazed but not amused By all the things you say you'll do We're much concerned but not involved In decisions that are made by you And we are sick and tired of hearing your song Saying how you are gonna change right from wrong 'Cause if you really want to hear our views You haven't done nothin It's not too cool to be ridiculed But you brought this upon yourself The world is tired of cons and liars We want the truth and nothing else, yeah And we are sick and tired of hearing your song Saying how you are gonna change right from wrong 'Cause if you really want to hear our views You haven't done nothing All you people sing it with me now say doo doo wop doo doo wop doo doo wop doo doo wop doo doo wop doo doo wop We would not care to wake up to the nightmare That's becoming real life But when misled, who knows a person's mind Can turn as cold as ice Why do you keep on making us hear your song Saying how you are gonna change right from wrong 'Cause if you really want to hear our views You haven't done nothing C'mon people sing it one more time

It's a beggars life, said the Queen of Spain But don't tell it to a poor man Cause he's got to kill for every thrill The best he can Everywhere around me I see jealousy and mayhem Because no men have all their peace of mind To carry them Well I don't really care If it's wrong or if it's right But until my ship comes in I'll live night by night When the joker tried to tell me I could cut it in this rube town When he tried to hang that sign on me I said take it down When the dawn patrol got to tell you twice They're gonna do it with a shotgun Yes, I'm cashing in this ten-cent life For another one Well I ain't got the heart To lose another fight So until my ship comes in I'll live night by night Well I don't really care If it's wrong or if it's right But until my ship comes in I'll live night by night

about

Over the years when not working on original material I've recorded some of my favorite songs, just because I could and it's fun. This project is the result.
On most of these songs I've tried to be as faithful to the original as I could. On a few of them that was obviously not gonna be possible so I did.....whatever I could, LOL. (I'm looking at YOU Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder and Jeff Beck!)
A HUGE thanks to my partner in crime and keyboardist DeLuxe, Donte Purdy.
I hope you have a good time!

about

RS Cain Versailles, Kentucky

I'm a guitarist, singer, and songwriter from central Kentucky.
My music is a mix of many different influences; from the country and western I heard as a child to some stuff I heard yesterday.
I write songs primarily to make you shake your money maker. I'm not deep, and I'm certainly no virtuoso. I just want you to have a good time.
